The Toddler Community is designed to meet the needs of children 18 months to 3 years. This environment provides children with a special place to participate in activities that support age appropriate development.
The Toddler environment is divided into two areas: practical life exercises and language acquisition. The Exercises of Practical Life are the everyday activities in which children of this age love to participate. They help the child in developing concentration, focus, and coordinated movement, and are instrumental in the child’s quest for independence. A few examples of these activities include sweeping, plant care, food preparation, window washing, and toileting. Language is introduced through stories, books, songs, picture cards, and conversations with other children and adults.
