Jessica Bremmer - Trustees

Jessica Bremmer is the English Department Chair and a member of the Upper School English faculty at Westridge School for Girls, where she has also served as Class Dean and Summer Programs Co-Director. Prior to Westridge, Jessica taught writing at the University of Southern California and at Georgia State University.

She received her Ph.D. in English from the University of Southern California, M.A. degrees in English from both USC and Georgia State, and a B.A. in English from Kennesaw State University.

At Westridge, Jessica has designed several Upper School English courses, including Banned Books and Censorship and Disruption, and partnered with a colleague to create a literature-based interdisciplinary course for juniors and seniors.

Her writing has appeared in NAIS’s Independent School Magazine, The Coachella Review, Paste, and Tu Ciudad. Her dissertation on Mexican-American Modernism earned her a graduate student fellowship at USC.

Jessica’s favorite things are her family, books with worn pages, and the perfect day at the beach. Her son and Sandra Cisneros are her heroes.
